ABOUT THE LIVING LIFE IN COSTA RICA BLOG

I (Vicki Skinner - aka "THE Sarong Goddess") created this blog in 2007 to share DETAILED Finds•Lists•Info•Events•Experiences to help bring more EASE to people living in, visiting or thinking of moving to Costa Rica since DETAILS are NOT easy to find!
I’m NOT an expert (an "expert" 2 ME knows 101%-NOT me). I believe in sharin info•helping where I can! And with over 2,200 entries, so some things might be out of date, so if you find old info PLEASE help each other by getting the updated info & sharing it with me to revise. At least you have some basic info to get you started.
VOLUNTEER TO HELP:
Better yet - do you have extra time on your hands & looking for a volunteer project? Since this blog is a labor of love & RARELY does anyone share a donation (even though MANY have said how much it's helped them), I could REALLY use help updating info. Spanish speakers ESPECIALLY welcome since my VicLish can be somewhat limited at times!!

DONATE:
Has my blog helped in any way? Helped find something•brought more EASE? More exposure or business?
I welcome you to show YOUR appreciation for my efforts!
ANY size DONATION is APPRECIATED!
(see below other ways to show your appreciation)
The easiest way is with PAYPAL - Attn: LivingLifeInCostaRica@gmail.com
(you do NOT need to have a PayPal account to do this - just a credit or debit card)
ADD INFORMATION:
Do YOU have/know of a Business•Event•News•Place•Things 4 Sale•Rent to add? Email:
LivingLifeInCostaRica@gmail.com

OTHER WAYS TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION FOR THIS BLOG

• APPLE LAPTOP - Do you have a Laptop you're not using? Mine recently broke so I'm using a lender. Must be new enough to run current Skypes & have an SDCard slot.
• Amazon.com or GoDaddy.com Credit•Gift Certificate (attn: SarongGoddess@gmail.com)
• Something else to share?? A gift certificate or invite for your business? I'm open!! (at times I'll add other things here that I'm seeking)

TENNIS - Where to play Tennis in Costa Rica - COURTS / CLUBS / Hotels / Residencies

(note that everything is subject to change in price, hours, etc. so best to call to verify before you go)
PUBLIC TENNIS COURTS
(and one of THE BEST I hear!!!!)
Lindora (Pozos de Santa Ana)
PARQUE VALLE DEL SOL (inside the residential area)
I consistantly hear REALLY positive things about these courts - nice facilities, good trainers and many have said it’s better run than many of the private clubs! They have 10 semi-slow courts - 2 covered/lighted and 8 open air.
COST: Mon.-Fri.-3,000-c/hr, Sat. and Sun.-4,000-c/hr. They also have racket rentals, racket stringing service, locker rooms wtih showers, drinks for sale and a sports shop.
And an 18 hole, 18 hole, Par for course: 72, professional championship GOLF COURSE (2-282-9222 x218) designed by Tracy May, under the supervision and advice of Club Corporation of America (CCA) and International Management Group (IMG). They have Golf Cart rentals, Driving Range, Putting Green, Golf Academy, Gold equipment rental, Golf Lessons, a Pro-Shop, Snack Bar.
HOURS:
LOCATION: 1700 meters West of Banco Banex off the road off the Pista heading towards the airport
Escazu - Centro - Rosa Linda
Not sure of the name but there’s a pubic court in Centro Escazu.  To get there - go up to the main cemetery (at Snoopy’s bar) and head West.  Go down 1 block to the end of that street (at the 2nd cemetery) and turn Right and it's on your Right about 50 meters.
HOURS: 6am-5pm.
COST: 1,500-c/hr.
RESERVATION: It’s MUI COMPLICATED - First you have to call the Escazu Sports Committee (2-289-9432 - note - NO ONE in their speaks any English). Then, MY understanding of this is you HAVE to go to their office between 8am-5pm (up the hill from the Scotia Split in Centro Escazu behind Escazu High School / Liceo Escazu) to pay, receive a receipt and the key, then you go play and if no one is right after you, you have to take the key back (otherwise you just pass the key onto the next person).
